Jeanne Rose’s book titled “The Aromatherapy Book: Applications & Inhalations” takes you through a journey to discover amazing aspects of aromatherapy. The book is very comprehensive compared to other texts and explains the history of how and why the therapies have come about.

The author is an academic who performed massive amounts of research and taught herbal classes. The purpose of her book is to share the knowledge gained through her lifetime. The information is broken into
sections addressing directions, recipes, and historical uses. The content focuses on topical applications and inhalations.

The author includes several well-organized tables. One table lists many ailments and identifies which oil would be helpful. Another table is the opposite, listing the oil and then describing what ailments the oil can be used for. The author also describes linking aroma, color, herb, sound, and healing properties. She states that to heal, one must use ALL the SENSES

The book contains almost 100 pages of recipes to make your own aromatherapy products along with explanations of why / how it works. The author also intersperses humor to liven up the reading. The information is “old”, but the principles are the same. The herbs
themselves have not changed much in the last 30 years since the book was published (1992).

I definitely recommend this book. It is very comprehensive and easy to follow. The book provides a thor￾ough explanation of aromatherapy products, easy to make recipes, and plenty of information for self- help ideas.
