Spring EDUCATION DAY 2026

A flourishing success with record attendance — inspiring minds, sharing knowledge, and growing our herbal community like never before.

The Kentuckiana Herb Society’s 31st annual Spring Education Day was an overwhelming success, welcoming a record-breaking 418 enthusiastic guests — a wonderful increase from 349 attendees last year. The day burst with outstanding educational content from three regional speakers, delightful shopping opportunities with 12 curated vendors, a vibrant herb plant sale to kick off the spring gardening season, beautiful hand-made herb-related items crafted by our talented members, and the excitement of over 40 raffle baskets plus a stunning hand-made quilt. Guests enjoyed a tasty continental breakfast and a delicious herb-inspired lunch provided by our venue host Huber’s Winery, received a thoughtful gift bag filled with herbal treasures, and were inspired by our new mini-documentary video that beautifully captures the heart, mission, and fellowship of the Kentuckiana Herb Society.

Our Venue Host

Huber’s Orchard & Winery – Plantation Hall

We would especially like to thank Herbie Clinard and the excellent staff at Huber’s Winery for their care and attention towards making the Spring Education Day memorable. Each year they go above and beyond to ensure our members and guests have a great experience.

The food is always outstanding and we receive many compliments on behalf of Huber’s delicious food. This year’s lunch menu included salad, fried chicken, tuscan style pasta, roasted carrots, corn pudding, fresh vegetable medley, fresh baked dinner rolls, and cobbler / ice cream for dessert!

KHS Market Place & Raffle

The Kentuckiana Herb Society members are very talented and skilled with herbal foods (including gluten free), herbal infusion kits, remedies, self-care, and other hand-made items such as sachets, aprons, tea towels, dried flowers, herbs and wreaths, catnip kitty toy and many others!

The 40+ raffle items created and donated by the members further showcases their creativity and imagination, providing unique gifts for the lucky winners.

The members make these items with care throughout the year to showcase and offer for sale at the Spring Education Day.

Herb Sales

Each year, Thieneman’s Herbs & Perinnials brings hundreds of herb plants for sale ready for your garden. A sure sign of Spring! These plants are high-quality and sell out quickly every year.

One can find all of your favorite herbs here and many others that are sometimes more difficult to find.

The herb society extends our deep appreciation to Peggy Thieneman and her staff for ushering in the warmer temperatures with us!

Swag Gift Bags

One of the guest favorites is receiving their “swag” bag. It never fails to provide unique surprises to take home, from practical to nuance.

The herb society especially thanks Paulette Kruer and Bigalow Tea Company for providing the tea bags – always a favorite!

This year our bags included the program, lavender sachet, goat milk soap, honey hand lotion, KHS pen and notepad, honey sticks, KHS bookmark, large assortment of Bigalow Tea bags, recipes, a Moon Milk sample mix, and the SO-IN Visitors Guide.
